Official Trailer for Wacky Horror Comedy ‘Attack of the Killer Donuts’

Attack of the Killer Donuts

“We’ve eaten them for years, now it’s their turn!” Level 33 Entertainment has dropped a trailer for a goofy new horror comedy film titled Attack of the Killer Donuts, which is indeed about donuts that become bloody thirsty killers. They’ve thought of everything, haven’t they? Maybe this is the perfect trailer to watch the day after Halloween, although it’ll probably give you the munchies for donuts (just make sure the ones you buy aren’t bloody thirsty killers). Attack of the Killer Donuts stars Justin Ray, Kayla Compton, Ben Heyman, Kassandra Voyagis, Michael Swan, and Aaron Groben. On one hand, it’s kind of cool that something this wacky still exists (with its own theme song?!). On the other, this looks as awful as it sounds. ›››

Watch: Vimeo’s Wacky Doc About Sundance ‘Escape From Park City’

Escape From Park City Doc

“The cheapest way to survive is to subsist entirely on appetizers. If you’re luck enough to get access to free parties throughout the day…” We’ve been covering the Sundance Film Festival for 11 years, and I adore the festival, but it’s not always the most inviting place especially if you don’t have proper access. This year, Vimeo hired “self-described ‘struggling’ Staff Picked documentarian” John Wilson to make a video about his experience at the festival – without any access. Suffice it to say, he makes an amusing doc that mocks the festival and the absurdity of everything, yet also finds the good in it. “Wandering up and down Main Street, remarking on the blend of commercialism and exclusivity, he paints a pretty pallid picture of festival life and the forces that dominate it.” It’s worth watching for a good life and a totally different look at Sundance. ›››

Watch: Official US Trailer for Wacky Polish Mermaid Film ‘The Lure’

The Lure Trailer

“All you need to do is have fun. The rest is easy.” Janus Films has debuted an official US trailer (red band for mermaid nudity) for a film titled The Lure, a wacky Polish indie about two mermaid girls who join a human band in Warsaw. Part comedy, part cabaret, part horror, part romance, you won’t find anything else like this film out there, though it may be a little too wacky for some. The cast includes Marta Mazurek, Michalina Olszanska, Kinga Preis, Andrzej Konopka, Jakub Gierszal, Zygmunt Malanowicz, Katarzyna Herman and Marcin Kowalczyk. I’ve been hearing about this film for a while, ever since it premiered at Sundance last year, and it’s destined to become a cult classic – catch it in theaters this winter. ›››
