First Trailer for Indie Comedy ‘The Wilde Wedding’ with Patrick Stewart

The Wilde Wedding Trailer

“You are so thoughtful – as if you’d have any idea what a ‘keeper’ was.” Vertical Entertainment has debuted the first official trailer for an indie comedy titled The Wilde Wedding, about a wedding that gets a bit crazy (if the title wasn’t already an indication of that). The two people getting hitched are played by Glenn Close and Patrick Stewart, a retired film star marrying a renowned English writer. The rest of the “wild” ensemble cast of great actors includes John Malkovich, Minnie Driver, Jack Davenport, Yael Stone, Peter Facinelli, Noah Emmerich, and Grace Van Patten. I’m not sure where this came from, as I’ve never heard of the film before, but it looks entertaining in an awkward dysfunctional comedy way. There’s tons of sexual tension being built up and released in this trailer, so make sure you wear a condom. Have fun. ›››

New photos of Kristen Stewart in NYC

Last week Kristen Stewart was in NYC to promote her latest movie, Personal Shopper. While in town she stayed at The Bowery Hotel where she did take time to say hello to waiting fans. During her stop at the Today Show she explained why she chose to shave her head. “I’m doing a movie in a couple of weeks called Underwater and I play a mechanical engineer that’s working in an oil rig that’s on the bottom of the ocean floor,” Stewart said. “So for me, I was like, ‘it’s practical! I mean, I’m not going to be able to have touch-ups once I put the helmet on. I must shave my head’.” In Underwater, she will play an underwater researcher who are put in danger by an earthquake. Kristen Stewart shaved her head and we’re all just so happy for her

It seems like only yesterday that Kristen Stewart appeared in Panic Room with a terrible ’90s bowl cut and — sorry, sorry, we’ll stop crying. She’s just come so far.

Stewart showed up to the Personal Shopper premiere in Los Angeles Tuesday night with her head shaved and dyed platinum blonde. Her stylist previewed her new ‘do on Instagram hours earlier, along with some winking commentary.

“We tried something a little different today,” Britt Brager, her hairstylist, said.

She called the do #perfectlyimperfect, which is simultaneously kind of precious and completely accurate.  Read more…

Kristen Stewart in talks for action-thriller Underwater

The Hollywood Reporter brings word that actress Kristen Stewart is in talks for 20th Century Fox‘s upcoming action-thriller Underwater. She’s being eyed for the film’s lead role, a jaded member of the crew. A March start date is set for the film to begin production in New Orleans.

The film centers on a team of researchers who, after an earthquake devastates their underwater station, have to navigate through two miles in the dangerous depths of the ocean floor to make it to safety. It is described as an underwater version of Armageddon.

Writer/director Will Eubank (The Signal) is set to direct the film for Chernin Entertainment from a script by Brian Duffield.

Stewart was most recently seen in the film Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk in 2016 as well as Personal Shopper, Café Society, and Certain Women. She’s also no stranger to action film roles, having appeared in American Ultra, Snow White and the Huntsman, and even flirting with action scenes in The Twilight Saga.

Personal Shopper Trailer

“We made this oath: whoever died first would send the other a sign.” IFC Films has debuted another new official US trailer for the indie sorta-horror film from French filmmaker Olivier Assayas, titled Personal Shopper starring Kristen Stewart, which first premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last year. The film follows a young women who is haunted by a ghost and she communicates with him through text messages (seriously). She works as a “personal shopper” for a famous celebrity, picking up clothes all over Europe for her to wear. The full cast includes Lars Eidinger, Sigrid Bouaziz, Anders Danielsen Lie, Ty Olwin, Hammou Graia, Nora Van Waldstatten & Benjamin Biolay. I’m not a fan of this film, but that’s me. ›››

Jon Stewart tells Tom Brokaw that social media has ‘democratized abuse’

Comedian-turned-political commentator Jon Stewart can’t figure out what’s up with social media.

In a conversation with Tom Brokaw for his 50th anniversary on NBC News, the former Daily Show host talked to the longtime news anchor about the use of social media in today’s hyper-connected world.

On one hand, Stewart sees social media, such as Twitter and Facebook, as a terrible force that has “democratized abuse” — just look at the rampant Twitter trolls and fake news stories filling Facebook newsfeeds. While on the other hand he says it “connects people in a way that’s remarkable.”  Read more…
