First Trailer for Live-Action ‘Rampage’ Movie Starring Dwayne Johnson

Rampage Movie Trailer

“Oh, what, you didn’t know about the 30 foot wolf?” Warner Bros has launched the first official trailer for Rampage, the live-action version of the classic 1980s video game about apes and monsters destroying city buildings. Yeah, they actually went and made this. Can you believe it?! Rampage the movie, get out of town! From the director of San Andreas and Incarnate, Rampage follows a primatologist named Davis Okoye, played by Dwayne Johnson, who shares a bond with the big white ape George. Suddenly something weird causes him to start growing in size fast. The full cast includes Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Malin Akerman, Joe Manganiello, Naomie Harris, Marley Shelton, Jake Lacy, Breanne Hill, Jack Quaid, Joey Thurmond, and P.J. Byrne. You shouldn’t be surprised to hear that this looks fun, but it also looks like CGI mania. Yes, there is building smashing. I prefer this Dwayne Johnson over the one in Jumanji any day. ›››

Official Trailer for Indie Film ‘Small Town Crime’ Starring John Hawkes

Small Town Crime Trailer

“We do this – there is no half way.” Lionsgate has unveiled the first trailer for an indie dark comedy titled Small Town Crime, which played at the SXSW and London Film Festivals. The “small town” crime film stars John Hawkes as an alcoholic ex-cop who finds the body of a young woman and, through an act of self-redemption, becomes hell-bent on finding the killer but unwittingly puts his family in danger and gets caught up with several dark characters along the way. Sounds fun, no? The ensemble cast includes Octavia Spencer, Anthony Anderson, Robert Forster, Clifton Collins, Jr., Michael Vartan, James Lafferty, Daniel Sunjata, Caity Lotz, Jeremy Ratchford, Don Harvey, Stefanie Scott, and Dale Dickey. This looks pretty much exactly as it sounds, but at least it’s nice to see Hawkes in another lead role. ›››

Full Trailer for Netflix’s ‘Wheelman’ Action Movie Starring Frank Grillo

Wheelman Trailer

“You don’t listen to me… you’re gunna get hurt.” Netflix has revealed a new full-length trailer for an action film titled Wheelman, about a “wheelman” getaway driver. We featured a teaser trailer for this last month, and here’s the full trailer to follow that. Wheelman is told entirely from the perspective of the driver, with most shots inside the car, taking place over the course of one night and one bank robbery that goes terribly wrong. Frank Grillo plays the wheelman, co-starring Garret Dillahunt, Caitlin Carmichael, Wendy Moniz, and William Xifaras. This actually looks pretty damn good, and buzz from Fantastic Fest seems to indicate it might even exceed expectations. This really does look a lot like a grittier Baby Driver, though. ›››

Romance Brews in Official Trailer for ‘Porto’ Starring Anton Yelchin

Porto Trailer

“No, please, don’t do anything differently…” Kino Lorber has unveiled an official trailer for the romantic drama Porto, about two strangers who meet randomly for an evening of intimacy in the Portuguese city of Porto. The film stars the late Anton Yelchin in one of his final roles (along with the films Rememory and Thoroughbreds) as Jake, who meets the lovely Mati, played by Lucie Lucas. The cast also includes Paulo Calatré and Françoise Lebrun. This already premiered at the San Sebastian Film Festival last year, and has played at numerous film festivals through 2016 and 2017, with a release in the US this November. This actually reminds me a bit of Drake Doremus’ intimate romance film Newness, which also had a trailer today. ›››

First Trailer for Netflix’s Horror ‘The Babysitter’ Starring Judah Lewis

The Babysitter Trailer

“This Friday the 13th – brush your teeth, put on your PJs, and run like hell.” Netflix has debuted the first official trailer for a new horror comedy titled The Babysitter, from director McG (who has resigned from Hollywood and moved over to Netflix, thankfully). The movie is about a young boy who has the hots for his babysitter. When she brings her friends over to his house for a night of fun, he discovers they’re actually part of a satanic cult. Then it twists into a fun survival horror, where he must fight back and figure out how to make it through the night. Starring Judah Lewis as the kid, with Samara Weaving, Bella Thorne, Leslie Bibb, Hana Mae Lee, Robbie Amell, Emily Alyn Lind, and Andrew Bachelor. This actually doesn’t look so bad, it’s bloody and violent and seemingly quite funny, who would’ve thought. Take a look. ›››

First Trailer for Indie Sci-Fi Film ‘Rememory’ Starring Peter Dinklage

Rememory Trailer

“The machine is incredible!” “Pure, unfiltered truth.” Ready to remember all of your memories? Lionsgate has debuted the official trailer for an indie sci-fi film titled Rememory, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. This is one of a few subtle indie sci-fi films that played at the festival, along with Marjorie Prime and The Discovery. The gimmick in this is a device that can extract, record and play a person’s memories. The inventor is found dead, and his wife retreats into her home until a mysterious man shows up and begins investigating what exactly happened. Peter Dinklage stars, with Julia Ormond, Martin Donovan, Evelyne Brochu, Henry Ian Cusick, and the late Anton Yelchin. The film received pretty bad reviews out of Sundance, and while I am somewhat intrigued, this trailer doesn’t really grab me. ›››

Crazy First Trailer for Action Movie ‘Savage Dog’ Starring Scott Adkins

Savage Dog Trailer

“There’s a tale told somewhere south of Burma. The tale tells of a man…” XLrator Media has debuted an official trailer for an action movie titled Savage Dog, which looks like it’s straight out of the 90s as an action movie mixing guns and martial arts and a ridiculous revenge plot and so much more. Scott Adkins stars as a former champion boxer stuck in a prison in Indochina in the late 1950s. When he is released, the people running the jail don’t want him to leave and so he must figure out a way to get home. The full cast includes Marko Zaror, Juju Chan, Cung Le, Vladimir Kulich, Charles Fathy, Matthew Marsden, Sheena Chou, and the incomparable Keith David. I really don’t know how to describe this, it has some cool action but it seriously looks like this was made 30 years ago and kept in a vault until now. Check it out. ›››
