Sean Spicer isn’t a joke, he’s a disgrace. Stop applauding.

TwitterFacebook

After wantonly lying to the American public for six straight months, former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer has already been forgiven. And he didn’t even have to say I’m sorry.

Spicer made a surprise cameo appearance at last night Emmys, much to the delight of the audience’s supposedly anti-Trump elites and the chagrin of everyone who had to watch this shit at home. After wheeling onto the stage with an SNL-inspired moving podium, Spicer was rewarded with generous rounds of liberal applause and a bemused Melissa McCarthy GIF.

It’s more than just the Emmys. “Spicey” has escaped punishment precisely because we’ve turned him into a slapstick pop culture meme, then absolved his crimes with a no-need-for-forgiveness tour.  Read more…

Beautiful Official Trailer for Sean Baker’s Excellent ‘The Florida Project’

The Florida Project Trailer

“Thank you very much!” “You’re not welcome!” A24 has debuted the first official trailer for the outstanding indie film The Florida Project, the latest feature from Tangerine director Sean Baker. This premiered at the Cannes Film Festival this year to rave reviews – read mine here. The film tells the story of Halley, played by Bria Vinaite, and her daughter Moonee, played by Brooklynn Prince. They live at The Magic Castle, a motel in Orlando just in the backyard of Disneyland. Moonee and her friends run around causing all kinds of trouble and it’s such a delight to watch them. Willem Dafoe also stars in one of his best performances of his career, and I really mean that. This film is really something special, and you can see why with this trailer – which captures the magic and charm of this beautiful film just perfectly. One of the year’s best indie gems. ›››

Katrina Law Joins Sean Bean in Crackle’s The Oath Series

Katrina Law Joins Sean Bean in Crackle's The Oath series

Training Day star Katrina Law joins Sean Bean and Ryan Kwanten in The Oath series

Training Day star Katrina Law has just been cast in Crackle‘s The Oath series. She’ll join previously announced cast members Sean Bean (Game of Thrones), Ryan Kwanten (True Blood), Cory Hardrict (American Sniper) and Arlen Escarpeta (The Magicians). In The Oath series, Law will play Karen Beach, a police officer, and the sole female member of the Ravens cop gang, who has tendency to overcompensate by out-toughing the macho company she runs with and gets involved in a forbidden love affair with a member of a rival cop gang.

RELATED: Watch the Trailer for Crackle’s Snatch Series

Created by Joe Halpin (Hawaii Five-O, Secrets and Lies), who worked as a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy in South Central for 17 years, 12 of which as an undercover officer, the series takes ‎an unforgiving look at the complicated dynamics in these organizations and documents the lives of those willing to risk it all, to have it all. The gritty, action-packed drama, explores a world of gangs made up of those sworn to protect and defend and sheds light on corrupt and secret societies that are nearly impossible to join—only a select few make the cut–but once inside, members will do what they must to protect each other from enemies on the outside and from within their own ranks.

The Oath series is executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and his G-Unit Film & Television Inc., Todd Hoffman and Dennis Kim of Storied Media Group, as well as former Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Joe Halpin (Hawaii Five-O, Secrets And Lies), who served for over a decade as an undercover cop in South Central and brings an invaluable air of authenticity to the series in his role as series creator, writer, and showrunner. Veteran filmmaker Jeff T. Thomas (Blindspot, Wayward Pines) will direct the series’ premiere episode.

In addition to Training Day, Law is known for her work in the Starz series Spartacus and for playing Nyssa al Ghul on The CW’s Arrow.

Melissa McCarthy will be back on SNL as Sean Spicer this weekend

Today, Melissa McCarthy was spotted rolling down a Manhattan Street on her White House podium for a skit that will appear on this weekend’s Saturday Night Live. The famous bit, in which she dresses as White House press secretary Sean Spicer, has become a favorite among fans of the show. McCarthy was seen yelling at traffic to get out of her way as she sped along on her podium. The skit comes just in time, as the real Sean Spicer resumed his duties in the White House press room today, as well. Official Trailer for Thriller ‘Drone’ Starring Sean Bean as a Drone Pilot

Drone Trailer

“Should I tell your wife and your son who you really are?” Screen Media Films has launched a trailer for Drone, yet another movie about drone pilots, this one featuring Sean Bean. Yes, that Sean Bean, the one from Lord of the Rings and “Game of Thrones”. Drone is about a father who is secretly a drone pilot who spends his workdays flying covert missions then returns to family life. Everything changes when a Pakistani businessman, who feels he is responsible for the deaths of his wife and child, tracks him down leading to a harrowing confrontation. Starring Patrick Sabongui, Mary McCormack, Joel David Moore, Sharon Taylor, and Kirby Morrow. This looks intriguing, but pretty much the same as all the other drone films. ›››

Melissa McCarthy returned to Saturday Night Live to bring us the gift that is her impression of White House Press Secretary Sean “Spicy” Spicer — and things got physical.

McCarthy opened the night’s briefing by assuring the press corps that it needn’t worry: This was going to be the “New Spicy.” A calm Spicy. One that definitely wouldn’t throw wads of chewed gum at reporters and attack them with a leaf blower.

Melissa McCarthy makes a better Sean Spicer than Sean Spicer on ‘SNL’

If there’s one (small) good thing about Donald Trump’s presidency, it’s giving America’s best comedians a smorgasbord of weirdness to tuck into.

On Saturday Night Live, Melissa McCarthy took a turn as Press Secretary Sean Spicer and it was brutally good. Ill-fitting suit? Check. Alternative facts? CheckInsane gum addition? Check and check.

Parodying Spicer’s infamously testy relationship with the press, Spicer/McCarthy used his bully pulpit Saturday to physically bully journalists.

He booed the New York Times, tried to explain why Steve Bannon is on the National Security Council using a giant key and visor as props, and deployed a super soaker filled with soapy water to harass journalists when they asked annoying questions.  Read more…
