“My son, it is your time. You get to decide what kind of King you are going to be.” Disney has revealed the full-length official trailer for Marvel’s Black Panther movie, directed by the talented filmmaker Ryan Coogler (of Fruitvale Station, Creed), and it looks awesome. The story follows King T’Challa, once again played by Chadwick Boseman, who goes back to his African nation of Wakanda after the events of Civil War. There he encounters new enemies that want to challenge his seat on the throne, and destroy Wakanda. The outstanding ensemble cast includes Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Andy Serkis, Florence Kasumba, John Kani, Winston Duke, and Sterling K. Brown. This looks damn good. Yes it looks like another Marvel movie, but I dig the Coogler’s style and boldness, seems a bit more unique than others. Check it out. ›››
Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan series teaser builds a bomb
Ahead of this year’s New York Comic Con, where the full trailer will be revealed to the world, Amazon has released a new teaser for their upcoming new Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan series. Check out the teaser in the player below and stay tuned on Saturday, October 7 as the show’s panel kicks off at 5:30 PM ET.
John Krasinski (13 Hours, The Office) stars in the series as the titular Jack Ryan, a reinvention with a modern sensibility of the famed and lauded Tom Clancy hero, a character with a star-filled Hollywood history, having been previously portrayed by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine.
Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan follows an up-and-coming CIA analyst thrust into a kdangerous field assignment for the first time. Ryan (Krasinski) uncovers a pattern in terrorist communication that launches him into the center of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale.
Set to executive produce are Carlton Cuse (Lost, Bates Motel) and Graham Roland (Almost Human), who wrote the pilot based on a story he and Cuse developed. Jack Ryan is co-produced with Paramount and Skydance Television, executive produced by Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form (Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), as well as Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross, along with Mace Neufeld (Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, The Sum of All Fears and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit) and Lindsey Springer.
Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan will stream exclusively on Amazon Prime in 2018.

“This is our place – right here, right now.” Gravitas Ventures has revealed an official trailer for the indie drama titled Abundant Acreage Available, which won the Best Screenplay award at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year. The film stars Amy Ryan and Terry Kinney as middle-aged brother and sister, who have just finished burying their father in a field on the fifty acre tobacco farm in North Carolina that their family owns. Trouble brews when three brothers, whose family farmed the land for generations, return after 50 years. The cast includes Max Gail, Steve Coulter, and Francis Guinan. I have been a big fan of Amy Ryan ever since Gone Baby Gone, so I’m always interested to watch anything she’s in, especially if she has a lead role. This looks damn good, and it’s easy to see the tough choices the script attempts to address. ›››
Creator Ryan Murphy on American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace
At the final day of the Television Critics Association press event, creator Ryan Murphy spoke about the upcoming installment of American Crime Story, The Assassination of Gianni Versace. (The critically acclaimed The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story was the first and Katrina: American Crime Story, which was originally scheduled as the second installment, will now be the third.)
Murphy spoke to the crowd of reporters, saying that The Assassination of Gianni Versace will be told in reverse, with the murder happening first, and the explanation of how it happened to follow, according to THR. He also spoke about the homophobia in the country at the time and how it contributed to the murder. He said, “We’re trying to talk about a crime within a social idea. Versace, who was [Andrew Cunanan’s] last victim, did not have to die. One of the reasons he was able to make his way across the country and pick off these victims, many of whom were gay, was because of homophobia at the time.” Cunanan killed at least for people before he murdered Versace on July 15, 1997.
Ryan Murphy, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Brad Falchuk and Tom Rob Smith are Executive Producers of The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. It is written by Tom Rob Smith, and Ryan Murphy directed the premiere episode of the series, which stars Darren Criss, Edgar Ramirez, Penelope Cruz and Ricky Martin. The series is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions.
FX’s first installment of ACS, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, received 22 Emmy Award nominations and it won nine Emmys. It also won the Golden Globe, BAFTA, AFI, PGA, WGA and TCA awards and it was the most critically acclaimed program of 2016. Production of Katrina: American Crime Story is now slated to begin in early 2018. Production of The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story began in April and it is tentatively slated to debut in early 2018.

John Krasinski talks about filming Jack Ryan for Amazon
It was announced back in 2015 that Amazon was doing a Jack Ryan series, based on the character created by Tom Clancy. In 2016, John Krasinski (The Office, 13 Hours) had taken the title role. While doing press for the upcoming Disneynature film Born in China (see photos below), which he narrates, we got a chance to chat with Krasinski about filming Jack Ryan. Krasinski told us about how this feels like a film, how we’re going to see the character before he becomes a hero, and doing his own stunts.
“It’s been awesome,” Krasinski said of shooting. “We’re shooting something that I think is really special. I certainly love what we’re doing. It’s one of those things where I’ve been a huge fan, too, so it’s great to hear that you’re a huge fan. I hope the huge fans are the most happy with what we’re doing. But I think at the end of the day, the idea of going back to the days where Jack Ryan was an analyst, where he’s sitting at a desk, crunching numbers. And then you get taken on the full ride. I think the movies always start with him as kind of this established hero figure. And in our show, he really starts as a guy who’s just crunching numbers. And one of the things he was researching was something real, and he’s the only one who can go. So it feels like, you know, you get taken on a ride from the beginning, so it feels really, really nice.”
He continued, “And the other thing is, we’re shooting it in this epic way, where all eight episodes are cross-boarded, so we’ll shoot one day, the end of episode three, and the second half of the day, you’re shooting episode 1, the opening shot of the show. It’s pretty wild. I’ve never had anything like that. It’s really exciting and it’s a lot of hard work, but we’re really pumped about where we’re headed.”
Krasinski talked about shooting in this style. “It feels way more like a movie than it does a TV show,” he said. “I think because the days are really long. There’s a lot of hard work that we’re doing, because there’s so much ground to cover. We’ll do a talky scene where we’re giving out all this information and then we’ll go right into a scene…a crazy hand-to-hand fight scene. It feel more more like a movie, than, certainly, The Office. I’ll put it that way. It just feels like we’re shooting one giant movie.”
We asked Krasinski about doing stunt work on Jack Ryan. “It’s been awesome,” he said. “I’m happy to say I’ve been doing all my stunts, and most of the fight stuff, I do first. We definitely have an incredible stunt team that will come in and do certain things, but they’ve been really cool to teach me to do a lot of my own stuff, so it’s been great.”
Are you guys excited for Jack Ryan and John Krasinski playing the lead? Are you going to see Born in China? If you see the film the first weekend, a portion of all proceeds go to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), with the funds earmarked for helping snow leopards and pandas. President Donald Trump is doing just great after the Republican healthcare bill failed to make it to a vote Friday, thank you so much.
No heads will roll for that humiliating defeat. Especially not the Just Cuts noggin of House Speaker Paul Ryan. It’s all love and affection and onwards and upwards on Pennsylvania Avenue.
So, please don’t read anything into the fact Trump told his 27 million Twitter followers to watch Justice with Judge Jeanine on Fox News at 9 p.m Saturday, in which the host absolutely eviscerated the Speaker and called for him to resign. Read more…

If you’re a politician making a light-hearted St Patrick’s Day reference, it’s important to get it right. Very important.
If you don’t — as Paul Ryan very much didn’t when he held up a woeful pint of Guinness at the recent Washington D.C. Friends of Ireland luncheon on Thursday — there’s every chance that Ireland will take note.
On Thursday, Irish journalist Naomi O’Leary shared the following image.
