Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in Incredibles 2 – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transistion for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Directed by Brad Bird (Iron Giant, The Incredibles) and produced by John Walker (The Incredibles) and Nicole Grindle (Sanjay’s Super Team short, Toy Story 3 associate producer), Incredibles 2 busts into theaters on June 15, 2018.

The New Mutants teaser trailer is here!

20th Century Fox has released the first New Mutants teaser trailer! Watch the teaser below and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

It looks like Fox is taking the superhero movies into the horror genre, much like they did with the comedy genre (Deadpool) and also with the Western genre (Logan). Director Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) previously stated The New Mutants will be “a full-fledged horror movie set within the X-Men universe,” while Fox’s Stacey Snider has described the film as “a haunted-house movie.”

The cast for the April 13, 2018 release includes Anya Taylor-Joy (SplitThe Witch) as Magik, Maisie Williams (Game of ThronesDoctor Who) as Wolfsbane, Charlie Heaton (Stranger ThingsShut In) as Cannonball, with newcomer Blu Hunt (The Originals) as Danielle Moonstar, Henry Zaga (13 Reasons Why) as Sunspot, and Alice Braga (Queen of the SouthPredatorsI Am Legend) as Dr. Cecilia Reyes. The shape-shifting alien Warlock will also appear as a CGI creation.

The New Mutants adapts the monthly comic book series of the same name that launched in 1982. Created by Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod, The New Mutants follows a group of teenage mutants as heroes in training in the Marvel Universe.

HOLY SHIT!!! The New Filmmaker IQ is FINALLY HERE!!!

*WARNING – The announcement below is unnecessarily long, overdramatic, mis-speled and the critical information, regarding your account, is way down towards the bottom. The ‘richer-than-you’ accessory every iPhone X buyer secretly wants is here, in solid gold

The overpriced, and mostly unnecessary iPhone X is what happens when the elite stop caring about appearances and start producing products expressly for the rich. Therefore, it only makes sense that, if you’re going to have a fuck-you iPhone, you might as well have the fuck-you iPhone case as well.

Meet the iPhone X Elite 24k Gold Edition. Yes, it’s covered in actual gold, not just the color.

Offered by London-based Goldgenie, the actual product is an Apple iPhone X (no affiliation with Apple) that is custom-plated in gold, rose gold, or platinum metal.  Read more…

It’s Time to Watch More Great Films – The Fall Festival Season is Here

Film Festival

Yep, it’s already that time of year again. The summer is over, the leaves are starting to change. You know what that means right? It’s the fall film festival season! And also the beginning of the awards season. The Venice Film Festival and Telluride Film Festival both kick off this week, and as always, we’re in for a treat with all the new films coming up this fall (it seriously looks like a stacked season). Just a few weeks later in September, the Toronto Film Festival continues festival mania with hundreds of films showing. And the month ends with the beloved Fantastic Fest in Austin, showing the best genre films from around the world. I’ll be covering the Venice Film Festival this year, and watching for reports from the other fests. ›››

Here Are All the Reasons Why You Should Stop Making Films

Most of the time, there are more reasons to quit than to shoot.

How many times have you told yourself that you don’t have what it takes to make films? Films take time, money, talent, and creativity and more often than not you feel like you just don’t have any of those things. Maybe your parents have told you that it’s a waste of time. Maybe you’ve already tried to break into the industry and failed. Maybe you haven’t made anything in years because your inner child has been replaced by your inner critic who is constantly telling you that if you try you are going to fail.

If this is you, you should watch this video by Simon Cade of DSLRguide immediately.

When I was in first grade, my teacher asked the class to draw a picture of our favorite animal. Once everyone was done, we sat in a circle so we could show everyone what we drew. When my teacher held up my picture—it was of a cheetah—a boy laughed and pointed at it, and that was the first time in my life that I ever realized that something I made could be seen as “good” or “bad.”
