Karaoke nights will never be the same as Anne Hathaway and Jimmy Fallon performed popular songs with a fun twist: the lyrics have been translated from different languages using Google Translator.
The songs prove just how inaccurate Google Translator can be as the chorus from The Weeknd‘s song “Can’t Feel My Face” is translated to “In your presence my front is not felt.” However, as Hathaway and Fallon rock out to these hits, you can’t help but find the translated versions are quite catchy. First look at Netflix’s Anne of Green Gables series
Netflix has released the official trailer for their upcoming series Anne, a reimagining of the classic children’s book, Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery. Check it out in the player below!
Set to premiere on May 12, the series stars Amybeth McNulty (“Anne Shirley Cuthbert”), Geraldine James (“Marilla Cuthbert”) and R.H. Thomson (“Matthew Cuthbert”).
Anne is a coming-of-age story about an outsider who, against all odds and many challenges, fights for love and acceptance and her place in the world. Set in Prince Edward Island in the late 1890s, the series centers on Anne Shirley (Amybeth McNulty), a young orphaned girl who, after an abusive childhood spent in orphanages and the homes of strangers, is mistakenly sent to live with an aging sister and brother. Over time, 13-year-old Anne will transform the lives of Marilla (Geraldine James) and Matthew Cuthbert (R.H. Thomson) and eventually the entire small town in which they live with her unique spirit, fierce intellect and brilliant imagination. Anne’s adventures will reflect timeless and topical issues including themes of identity, feminism, bullying and prejudice.
Showrunner Moira Walley-Beckett (Breaking Bad, Flesh and Bone) and Miranda de Pencier (Thanks For Sharing, Beginners) are executive producers on the series. Susan Murdoch is a producer. Anne is a Northwood Entertainment production for CBC and Netflix.
“Not to be missed!” Neon has unveiled a new official US trailer for the wacky sci-fi thriller from eccentric Spanish filmmaker Nacho Vigalondo, of the cult hit Timecrimes previously. It’s a film titled Colossal, a metaphorical action thriller starring Anne Hathaway as a young woman struggling with a few big personal problems. The concept is odd in that she basically becomes a giant monster that terrorizes Seoul, South Korea. You just need to see the trailer to get an idea of how it works, or you just need to go see the film and have a blast. The cast includes Dan Stevens, Jason Sudeikis, Tim Blake Nelson, Austin Stowell, Rukiya Bernard & Agam Darshi. This looks like it’s totally awesome, I really can’t wait to see it. Enjoy. ›››
“I have nothing left to do in this life but destroy you.” An official trailer has debuted for a wacky indie film titled Catfight, about two women who get into a huge fight that lasts pretty much the entire movie. Catfight stars Sandra Oh and Anne Heche as former friends, now mortal enemies, who end up in a big fight that starts at a party. It’s described as an action-packed, “jet-black comedy about two bitter rivals whose grudge match spans a lifetime.” The cast includes Alicia Silverstone, Dylan Baker and Damian Young. The film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival to mixed reviews. Erica Mann reviewed this for FS from TIFF, saying it’s a “quirky, ridiculous satire with a lot to say.” This looks like some harmless fun, so check it out. ›››
